In the last two weeks of my programme, I spent a lot of time by the Thames, watching the sunset and reading. It was inspired by when my mum and I were in London for ten days back in 2011, we had a fantastic apartment in Battersea beside the Thames. One of the best things about the apartment were the gorgeous sunsets we were treated to every night.
When I came to London for my programme, I soon realised that it was one of the things I missed about living in Battersea, so I resolved to spend time reading by the Thames late in the day, so I could see the sunset. I ended up spending a lot more time than I planned to in the last two weeks, but it was beautiful. I had a couple of specific spots that I would try to snag and I sat there for hours reading and watching the Thames.
The first time I did it, I walked all the way from Westminster tube station, down to Southwark where the Globe is.
